The second generation entrepreneurs, the daughters of the man behind this company, Prakash Chauhan, spoke to DARE about their transition, challenges, and more. From the daughters of Prakash Chauhan to the ones handling Parle Agro, how was the transition planned out? Schuana - Fresh out of school, I had a lot of ideas that I immediately wanted to implement. My father advised me to take one step at a time. That’s how the whole phase started. When I joined the company in 1999, it was a learning phase for me. I started interacting with a lot of departments, understanding the fundamentals of the organization—how we work, what is the culture, etc. It took few years to do this. When I joined, the company itself was going through a transition. We had just sold our soft-drink brand to Coca-Cola. My father and his brother were separating in their business. Because of all this, I could bring in a lot of changes and it was easier since there was an entirely new team coming in. I spent a lot of time recruiting a good team. Alisha - Things were different with me. I finished my education and then did a course in fitness and right after that I came back to Mumbai and immediately started setting up V3 fitness commune. Since I was very passionate about starting a fitness center, a business of my own, my father was extremely supportive, and helped me on all fronts. Nadia - For me, it was a very unique situation as my father had me involved in the business from a very young age. From the age of 11, I attended lot of meetings along with him. The questions that I had in my mind, I used to discuss with him later. This involvement made the transition a lot smoother when I formally joined the business because of the familiarity with the operations, the vision that my father had for the business, and most importantly the culture of the business. From the beginning itself, my father focused me into marketing, sales and product development meetings—from dreaming of the product to making sure that it is established. That is really what I have taken up as my role in the business today. So there wasn’t a phase of transition, it was just that we were involved a lot from such a young age that we just came in and took over. When I joined the company, it was very important for me to earn myself respect, and create an identity of my own. Therefore, I worked at different levels—ground level to the top. More than just the fact that it brings in more humility, it also allows you to understand the ground realities before you start dreaming of things that are completely impossible that might not be good or lucrative for the business. For more than one year, I did spend time in studying the absolute micro level things, and not just looking into it from the point of view of providing direction or leadership.

Kamal Chauhan, former RSS worker, planted bombs on Samjhauta Express

Kamal Chauhan, a disgruntled RSS worker arrested by the NIA, had planted bombs on board Samjhauta Express in 2007 after undergoing training in arms and explosives in Haryana and Madhya Pradesh, the agency claimed today. Chauhan was taken to Panchkula court which today granted NIA his custody till February 24 for questioning him on his alleged role in the blast in the Delhi-Lahore train that left 68 people, mostly Pakistanis, dead. Investigations reveal that Chauhan along with Ramchandra Kalasangra alias Ramji and Lokesh Sharma, also charged in the case, planted the explosives in the train at Old Delhi, from where the train originates, NIA's Special Prosecutor R K Handa said outside the court after the in-camera proceedings in the case. Chauhan, believed to be a close aide of Kalsangra and Sandeep Dange, key accused in the Samjhauta case, was arrested in Noida on Delhi's outskirts on Sunday and was brought to Panchkula in Haryana today. The NIA had sought his remand for a fortnight. "We have to unearth his complete involvement and association. During investigations, it has come to light that Chauhan underwent extensive training in handling of weapons and explosives. He took training at Karni Singh shooting range in Faridabad (Haryana) and a register seized by CBI on August 10, 2011 has the entries of his name in that shooting range. He also took explosives and arms training at Bagli in Dewas (Madhya Pradesh)," Handa said. "To unearth more information about execution of the plan, preparations that were made, a thorough investigation is required, for which we have sought the remand," he said. Chauhan, born in Mhow, was an activist of Rashtirya Swayamsevak Sangh. Sources claimed that during interrogation, Chauhan had spoken about his association with the RSS and his fall out as he did not subscribe to the "new ideologies". Lokesh Sharma, who was arrested in June 2010 on charges of participating in the criminal conspiracy of the bombing as he was present in the meeting where the alleged plot was hatched, is likely to be slapped with fresh charges for his direct involvement in the bombing, the sources said. Meanwhile, Chauhan's counsel Anil Soni and Shailender Babbar alleged that his arrest was "politically motivated" and aimed at influencing polls in Uttar Pradesh while his family claimed that he is a farmer by profession and in "no way involved in the crime". Handa said that Chauhan's father, who was also present in the court today, was allowed by the court to meet his son and his defence lawyers on his plea. Chauhan's father Radhey Shyam said that his son was summoned by police on February nine and after that he did not return home. "My son is a farmer by profession and he is no way involved in the crime," he told reporters outside the court. The agency has come to conclusion that the bombs used in the blast were prepared by Dange, a right wing militant who is absconding and is alleged to be the core of attacks planned and executed since 2002. NIA is also looking for Dange's right hand Kalsangra in connection with the case. The sources said intense questioning of the accused was being done to ascertain the whereabouts of Dange and Kalsangra, on whom the agency has announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh. After a four-year probe, the NIA had on June 20, 2011, charged Aseemanand, Sunil Joshi (now dead), Lokesh Sharma, Dange alias Parmanand and Kalasangra for hatching a criminal conspiracy which resulted in blasts in Samjhauta Express near Deewana railway station in Haryana's Panipat district, about 80 km from Delhi. NIA is also investigating the role of Sadhvi Pragya Thakur and Indresh Kumar in the blasts. Swami Aseemanand and Sharma are already in judicial custody. Apart from Ajmer Dargah blast, which claimed three lives and left 15 others injured, Aseemanand and Sharma are accused in several other blast cases across the country, including those at Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid and Malegaon.

Neil Nitin Mukesh is dating Sonal Chauhan?

It seems Neil Nitin Mukesh has found love again. The actor who turned 30 last month had claimed that he is ready to fall in love after two failed relationships and it looks like his wish has come true. The lady in question is Sonal Chauhan. They recently put up pictures of them partying happily at his home. We hear that he had invited all of his long-time friends and Sonal was the only one who didn’t fit into that category. Then there is Neil’s tweet in which he admits that he escorted Sonal to the sangeet ceremony of Dheeraj Deshmukh and Honey Bhagnani. That’s enough to break your hearts, isn’t it? A close friend of Neil chose to underplay it saying, "It would be premature to say Neil is dating Sonal Chauhan. After what he has gone through, it would require Herculean willpower to commit to another relationship. But yes, their bonding is definitely growing. And they're definitely in a space where love is present. But Neil won't rush into a commitment so fast. The last relationship has broken his faith."

Agneepath 1990-2012: Evolution of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan

Deewar gave cinema the inarguable "Mere pass maa hai", playing on core Indian family values that place the venerable matriarch above all. Amitabh Bachchan's Agneepath contributed in taking the story of the underdog forward with an almost Bond-style legendary self-introduction - "Vijay. Vijay Dinanath Chauhan." Not new to playing the role of the down-on-luck desperado, Bachchan with his bloodshot and kohl-rimmed eyes contributed to Agneepath the gritty legend "hain?" It remained the clearly-defined and easy point of reference for stand-up artists mimicking Bachchan for many years.
Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, son of a school master from the small village of Mandwa in Maharashtra, grows up in disrepute. His father's good intention of developing the hamlet is steamrolled by antagonist Kancha Cheena (played by Danny Denzongpa in the original) who wants to use the village as a landing dock for contraband. From an innocent boy torn from his roots after his father's death to the gruff young man who joins the same vicious cycle that he grew up abhorring, Bachchan's interpretation of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan won him a National Best Actor Award.

Agneepath (1990) may have bombed at the box office, but Bachchan immortalized a man who falls victim to a corrupt system and struggles to find sanity during an era when the Indian economy was itself in shambles amidst rising debt, high fiscal deficit and skyrocketing inflation.
The unstable 90s and the crisis of unemployment were mirrored in contemporary films. Chauhan and the concept of the 'angry young man' were direct products of the turmoil. Fighting the establishment, decaying morals and a license raj, the protagonist represented the common man and his misgivings. He fought crime but without the conviction that comes from economic well being or trust in the system. It was also the period of reorganisation of mafia gangs and territorial clashes.
"Waqt pe pahuchne ka apna purana aadat hai. Aaj thoda late ho gaya. Maafi chahta hai."
The protagonist was not always invincible. The moral duality of filmmakers and social thinkers was portrayed on screen in the characters they created. Of the two brothers in a household, one would turn out an upright, duty-abiding citizen and join the police force while the other would be a wastrel adopted by a crime boss and trained in nefarious activities. Good would always prevail. Existentialism was a recurring theme. The Chouhan of 1990 inherited a decaying legacy and interpreted his responsibilities according to the norms of those times.
Cut to 2012.
When Hrithik Roshan decided to play the character of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan and interpret it according to modern times, he must have realised the implications of reviving a cult figure. He must have known that his version would always be compared to Bachchan's by film historians.
None of the social stimulus that led to the birth of Chauhan in the troubled 90s is presently valid. Stranger still is the contrast between the characters Hrithik played in his last film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and in the upcoming Agneepath.
ZNMD epitomised a free economy and the free choices of the urban, affluent and metro-sexual youths. Even in their high pressure jobs and hesitant sex lives their choices are defined by their economic stability and a sense of belonging politically and socially.
Hrithik, with his clipped private school accent and chiselled looks is barely convincing as a drug lord. Bachchan has years of experience, an enviable cinematic savoir faire and a towering presence for creating some of Indian cinema's cult roles. But Hrithik has age on his side and no matter how the adaptation of Chouhan goes he will look stunning on screen. Produced by Karan Johar and directed by his former assistant Karan Malhotra, Agneepath 2012 is bound to be very different from its original.
It is up to Hrithik now on how he wants to make his presence felt. The old Vijay Dinanath Chouhan, played by a middle-aged Bachchan at that time, will be relegated to memory and the new, youthful and stylish Chouhan will perhaps earn his place in cinematic history.

Sunidhi Chauhan & Raveena Tandon's age old connection!

Turns out singer Sunidhi Chauhan's connection with actress Raveen Tandon is an age old one! It was Kalyanji Aanandji's tour to Bahamas in 1994 in which Bollywood-biggies like Amitabh Bachchan, Raveena Tandon, Manisha Koirala and Sridevi participated.

Among these top-notch actors was a little bundle of talent, Sunidhi Chauhan. Being a part of Kalyanji Aanandji's music academy, the 11-year-old toured for the first time with the then A-listers.

Seen with the "Mast Mast" girl Raveena Tandon, the coy little Sunidhi, clad in a salwar kameez, became the centre of attraction for the actress.

Interestingly, it's the same sparkler who has sung an item song "Main chandigarh di star, Munde checking me from far, munde slowing down the car" for Raveena in 'Bbuddah - Hoga Terra Baap'.

It is every newcomer’s dream to cast opposite Hrithik Roshan and above all if you get the scope to get cozy with the actor then she feels that it is an opportunity of a lifetime. Kingfisher model Shaurya Chauhan is currently feeling the same. Shaurya bags a role opposite Hrithik in ‘Krrish 2’ and what’s making news is that Hrithik will be seen lip-locking Shaurya.
The role that Chauhan accepted has been rejected by many in the past. First, it was Chitrangadha Singh who walked out of the movie saying the role was too short for her then Jacqueline Fernandez was approached, she too rejected the offer as she is not comfortable smooching Hrithik. ‘Rockstar’ actress Nargis Fakhri was also offered the role but she too declined.
When Shaurya Chauhan was asked about so many rejections, she answered that she do not have any idea but she is Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan’s first choice.
Hrithik’s lip-locking is the talk of the town ever since ‘Krrish 2’ was announced. When asked about this Shaurya refused to comment.

Sunidhi Chauhan getting married again

Singing sensation Sunidhi Chauhan is getting married in April. This is to be noted that this will be Sunidhi’s second marriage. She has earlier been married which did not last for long. Now she is getting married to musician Hitesh Sonik. Very talented magician hItesh Sonik reveled that he is getting married to the versatile singer Sunidhi Chauhan in April. Sonik said that earlier he was a huge fan of Sunidhi and now finally he is going to become her husband. Hitesh knows Sunidhi since 15 years from that time both of them are good friends. Gradually they fell in love.


 Hitesh is the grand nephew of the music composer of the yesteryears Sonik who was well known as Sonik-Omi in the 1960s and 1970s. She won the title of Meri Awaz Suno. Hitesh said that his grand uncle was blind by birth even then he struggled to establish himself as a singer. Later on he lost his voice too then he got together with his nephew to form the successful Sonik-Omi. The duo gave some successful songs like ‘Kanha Re Kanha’ (Truck Driver), ‘Kaan Main Jhumka Chal Main Thumka’ (Sawan Badho), ‘Raaz Ki Baat Keh Doon To’ (Dharma).

 Hitesh assisted Vishal Bharadwaj in 11 films as his assistant. Now he has established himself as an independent music director. He has given music for films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and My Friend Pinto. Now he is working for ‘Aakash Vaani.’ And yes, Hitesh lets out shyly that Sunidhi Chauhan has sung for him. “She has so far sung my composition only once, in ‘My Friend Pinto’. Just because she is the woman in my life doesn’t mean I would want to use a voice as powerful as hers until it is needed for one of my compositions.”


 Hitesh Sonik intends to keep the professional and personal spheres apart. “That Sunidhi is a wonderful singer is only a part of her personality. I love her first and foremost for the person she is. She has blended so well into my family. My folks dote on her. And I am also very comfortable with her family.” Hitesh says there is very little time and so much to do before the wedding. Both are working on the preparations. April is not far off.

First we will look at the life of Phoolan Devi .She was born in Mallah caste in Gorha Ka Purwa U.P (India).

From the beginning she had family dispute with his cousin Mayadin, she had some property related dispute with the Mayadin that’s why Mayaddin arranged Phoolan to marry Putti lal . According to Phoolan her husband was not of good character ( I do not know what is the definition of good character of a husband , this was her nature to always fight earlier she had problem with her cousin brother and after that with her husband ). There are proofs which states that she threatened her husband and refused to live with her .There are so much controversies related to her marriage life which is any how not related to Rajput Community .After all these thing she was again taken to his huband’s house where she fought with husband’s family and ran away .His own family have rejected her she became anti social element after doing all these thing she again came and continued her fifgt with Mayaddin (cousin brother ).I cannot understand that when her father was not interested and she was out of the family why she took Mayaddin to court for holding unlawful land .After that in 1979 Phoolan was arrested in stealing case (launched by Mayaddin) in three days of arrest she was raped and beaten by police man .All these things were done by his family and especially her brother Mayaddin . After this her family and society shunned her . Why the media is not criticising the family and the Mallah caste ?

In the same year she joined Dacoit gang .Please remember the person who was the leader was a Thakur named Baboo. I want to ask a simple after she had faced all these things what would be the character of the lady you can understand . The deputy leader of the group Vikram (caste Mallah) killed Babbo . Then Phoolan married to vikram as her second wife .Then Phoolan ransacked her husband Putti Lal and killed (by stabbing) and dragged him in the front of the villagers this was the character of Phoolan you can understand that what kind of her mentality ?After all these things she ransacked the high class villagers and kidnapping of upper caste land owners , please understand that till that date except an attempt of Rape by Babbo there was nothing which has been done by upper caste people against Phoolan for the attempt Babbo was murdered then why she was specially targeting the high caste people , Is it a crime in this country to belong to high caste .Later Shri Ram a thakur came out of jail and claimed the leadership of the gang .According to charges of Phoolan Shri Ram wants to make sexual advance towards Phoolan , I want to ask a simple question who was Phoolan Miss Universe Miss World or Miss India that every person wants (specially thakur’s) to make physical relationship with her ? Please understand that Phoolan was manipulating the facts that when Shri Ram took the charge he was specially torturing the Mallah community because there was not any incident before this that he would have done this kind of things and there is no such reason as well , as all of us are aware that what kind of character of Phoolan had it’s very hard to believe her every statement .And after that a bollywood kind of stroy framed by phoolan stating that Shri Ram killed Vikram and locked her in Behmai Village and there she was raped by many men in the Behmai villagers (not specially thakur’s) and she managed to ran away and she gathered a gang of Mallah she carried “n” numbers of robberies in north and central India mainly targeting upper caste people . I cannot understand why she was targeting upper caste people only if the answer is rape in Behmai Village there is no proof that only thakurs have participated and prirot to this she was raped in Police Station as well why did not take revenge by the Police .

After 17 month from her escape from Behmai on 14th Feb 1981 she returned back to rake avenge of her rape .Her gang came in police uniform and asked to produce the kidnappers along with all valuable things in the village .There was a thakur family preparing for wedding , the gang was not able to find kidnappers .She was able to recognise two of them who were involved in her rape and murder of Vikram .She ordered to line up all the thakur in the village and shot them . I want to ask who the hell she was to decide what punishment they should get (only talking about two ) where was law and order and impotent govt. What was the crime of rest of the Thakur’s in the village the only crime was that they were from Thakur community . The dacoit opened fire and killed 22 thakur’s of the village 20 of them were completely innocent .And the whole U.P govt system was not able to arrest Phoolan this shows how impotent the law and order is or there could be another reason that the case was related to Rajput community govt is least bothered .The media have glorified her at that time I cannot understand why ?

Two years after Behmai massacre police was not able to arrest her (the great UP police).Then our central govt (Indira Gandhi ) decieded to negotiate for her surrender it shows at that time total system failure to arrest Phoolan UP police was impotent but where was Army ? She was ready to surrender on his own terms and condition (which looks like award given to Phoolan for Behmai massacre rather than punishment )

The condition were as follows

1. Not to surrender UP police but she will surrender to MP police

2. She would not get the death penalty

3. Her gang members should not get more than eight years in jail

4. Her brother should be given a government job

5. Her father should receive a plot of land

6. Her entire family should be escorted by the police to her surrender ceremony

Lucrative kind of negotiation done by Indira Gandhi .

An unarmed police chief met her at a hiding place in the Chambal ravines. They walked their way to Bhind. The onlookers included a crowd of around 10,000 people and 300 police officer and the then chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Arjun Singh. Three hundred police were waiting to arrest her and other members of her gang who surrendered at the same time.

Phoolan Devi was charged with 48 crimes, including thirty charges of dacoity (banditry) and kidnapping. Her trial was delayed for eleven years, which she served in the prison.Phoolan was released in 1994 0n parole . I cannot understand that our govt can be impotent what about the judiciary ? Why court didnot gave her life sentence when the charge sheet was so heavy ?

She got a train stopped at unscheduled stops to meet her acquaintances in Uttar Pradesh. The railway minister, Ram Vilas Paswan played down the train incident and ordered only a nominal enquiry. Once, she visited the Gwalior jail (where she was imprisoned) to meet her former inmates. When the jail officers didn't let her in due to the visiting hours rules, she abused them. Later, a suspension order was issued against the jail officials involved in the incident, without any explanation. This was her real character which she was not able to change till last time always shown her true color of blood .

On July 25 2001, Sher Singh Rana alias Pankaj's killed Samajwadi Party MP Phoolan Devi to avenge the killing of 20 upper caste Thakurs by Phoolan's gang on February 14, 198, in Behmai, Uttar Pradesh. Sher Singh is a Thakur and belongs to Roorkee. This person is greater than our whole system he was manage to punish a guilty when even complete system was not able to do so . We should salute him and if possible govt should award him with Param Vir Chakra (PVC) award because he have done such bravery which our whole system (Police, CBI.ARMY including all the forces ).

On 25 th there was big celebration in Behmai

a cop at the Rajpur police station, about 15 Kms from the village, had something else to say. "We could hear the boom of guns from Behmai," he said.

It was divine retribution. God punished her for her sins," was the brief and crisp remark of 50-year old Santoshi Devi, who had helplessly watched her husband Banwari begging for his life before a haughty Phoolan who refused to show any mercy. The massacre that followed earned her instant notoriety and the infamy of 'bandit queen'.

Almost each of the 12 surviving widows of Phoolan's victims shares this sentiment.

Munni Devi was barely 15 and at her parent's place after her unconsummated marriage (a tradition prevalent in parts of rural India) when she got the news of her husband Lal Singh's brutal end. She remains a widow to this day.

"She had to be repaid in the same coin," she quipped.

"We were all thrilled to hear about the manner in which Phoolan met her end. I am among those who have suffered in the 20 years that have gone by since that woman pumped bullets into my father's chest," said a 21-year old college going lad, whose widowed mother pleaded anonymity.

Another youngster who was not even born when the sensational mass murder took place was even more forthright.

"Ever since my childhood, my blood always boiled when I heard about the massacre. What is wrong if we fired guns to express our jubilation now when God has punished her?"

Rana is to be honoured for upholding the dignity of the community as he has avenged the killing of 20 Kshatriyas by Phoolan Devi in the Behmai massacre. Rana is the new hero of community and every youth should follow his as ideal and message should be clear enough “DON’T MESS WITH RAJPUT”


SECOND GREAT THING DONE BY RANA

Mahmud Ghazni (Mahniud Ghaznvi) came and attacked India about seventeen times between 1001-1026 A.D. Mahmud Ghazni ruled from Ghazni, a city in Afghanistan. Rajput King Prithvi Raj Chauhan, who forgave him all the time, ultimately himself was defeated and was captured by Ghazni. He made Prithvi Raj blind and he was ultimately killed. His ashes were kept in Afghanistan.

Sher Singh Rana, the prime accused in the Phoolan Devi murder case, escaped from the jail two years earlier. He had a national mission in his mind, he wanted to bring the ashes of Rajput King Prithvi Raj Chauhan back to India whose ashes were buried in Afghanistan.

Rana said he brought relics and sand from the king's grave in Ghazni and also had a memorial built in Etawah in UP. (Police in Kanpur said all that exists in the name of a memorial was a foundation stone for a temple.)

Rana told the police that got a fake passport from Ranchi and flew to Afghanistan on a student visa in early 2005 -- about 10 months after his escape from Tihar. A former D-company member Subhash Thakur, whom he had first met in Tihar jail, financed his trip. This was despite the fact that a lookout notice had been issued against him.

During his three-month stay in that country, Rana went searching for the king's "grave" -- he admitted to his interrogators he had little idea about the location. Only, he had heard that people disrespected the king's "resting place" and "that hurt" him the most.

After touring Kandahar, Kabul and Herat, he finally reached Ghazni. On the outskirts of Ghazni, at a small village called Deak, he claimed to have found the tomb of Muhammed Ghori. A few metres away lay Prithviraj Chauhan's tomb.

Rana said he convinced the locals that he had come from Pakistan to restore Ghori's tomb. On the sly, he dug Chauhan's "grave" and collected sand from it. He even got his "achievement" recorded on video.

In April 2005, he was back in India. He sent the 'ashes' through courier to Etawah and organised a function there with the help of local politicians. Rana's mother, Satwati Devi, was the chief guest.

On Tuesday, his mother hailed his son as the "pride of the country". "My son has only served this country. He brought the remains of Prithviraj Chauhan to India," she said.

The whole India should feel proud of him.

As her mother is proud of her whole country should be proud of him we should convey a message to our young generation that be like be ready punish anyone who is against our community.

Dare-to-bare girl Shaurya gets into a catfight

This Chandigarh born Dilli ki Billi actress is known for her bold attitude and even language in real life.

In reel life, when Shaurya Chauhan had a catfight with her hero Karanveer Sharma, everyone around thought that she will not be able to enact romantic scenes with him.

Director Muazzem Beg says, “Shaurya Chauhan and Karanveer Sharma are both very passionate and intense in their delivery. When they had a creative difference over a particular shot, it literally became a catfight.

And we were all very worried because the next shot was a romantic one. But Shaurya changed colours like a chameleon in front of the camera and gave an effortless shot. If you hadn’t seen the catfight, you would have felt that Shaurya loves Karanveer eternally like his soul mate.”

Scintillating Shaurya, who was born in Chandigarh and grew up in Hyderabad, has spent quite a lot of time in Capital and is quite at ease in this film, which is set in the backdrop of our capital city- Delhi.

She plays a significant role (you can call it a shocker) in a story where six boys from different states come together to share a two BHK apartment in a middle-class colony, which they lovingly call "Sadda Adda".

It was a déjà vu for my experience during the ad shoot of kingfisher calendar.”
